Elite Home Builders LLC is the joint venture of Casa Builders & Developers Corp., a third-generation family company, and Mota Construction Corp., a multifaceted, hands-on construction company. Together, the two firms bring more than 40 years of homebuilding experience and knowledge to the industry.
Located in Westborough, Massachusetts, Elite comforts its clients by providing direct access to the building and design teams. “We understand that the decision to invest in building a home is one of the most important decisions our clients will make in their lifetimes,” says Steven Venincasa, principal of Elite. “Together, our clients will be guided and educated to make informed decisions and selections regarding their new home.”
Venincasa began building houses in 1975. Working with his father and brother, he started out building single-family homes and soon moved into subdivisions. In 2011, Venincasa teamed up with Mota Construction Corp. to form Elite. This collaboration between Casa Builders and Mota Construction benefits its clients and community by allowing the company to expand its geographical footprint to reach more communities throughout Massachusetts. In conjunction with the geographical expansion building single-family homes, Elite has also added condominium and apartment building to its portfolio.
Currently Elite is working on the following projects:
- Single-family homes in Wellesley, Needham, Dover, Westwood, Sudbury, Westborough with prices ranging from $1.2 million and up
- Single-family homes in Shining Rock Golf Community, Northbridge in the $500,000 range
- Millstone Village in Medway, a 55+ condominium community with pricing from $389,000 and up
With soon to be released developments:
- Single-family homes in North Attleboro and an apartment complex in Millbury
Strategies for success
Coming off the heels of a recession and the collapse of the housing market, Venincasa credits his company’s ability to remain financially sound when times are good as the reason that Elite not only survived but thrived through the economic downturn. “It’s very important to focus on what you do best,” says Venincasa. “I understand the cyclical nature of the residential housing market. I like to always be prepared for the next recession.”
As a member of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) since 1981, Venincasa has found many benefits included in the membership. “They support the industry in ways that individuals can’t,” he explains. “They allow us to collaborate amongst ourselves and among different suppliers.”
In his 35 years as a member, Venincasa has attended the NAHB International Builders’ Show approximately 25 times. In addition to the strong networking opportunities generated by attending, Venincasa enjoys the opportunity to view many new products in such a short amount of time.
“You can witness numerous product demonstrations and comparisons within feet of each other,” Venincasa explains. “The product reps are very knowledgeable about the new technology in building and building supplies that improve the quality of our construction. Another benefit to attending NAHB shows are the seminars held by highly qualified building and marketing experts who work in different areas of the country and share their experiences and knowledge.”
With the continuing education requirements for residential contractors constantly being modified, Venincasa has found it beneficial to attend classes offered locally in person, rather than online. The continuing education requirements have kept contractors up to date on both local and national building codes. Venincasa also believes that the change in requirements since he received his license to build, such as class hours and an exam, raises the integrity of the industry.
With the stretch energy code implemented in 2009, Venincasa says his company did not see the residual effects for the first few years, due to the fact that his company’s homes were already very efficient. “The quality of our construction exceeded the current building code. While these energy codes increase the cost to build, it will lower the energy cost to the new homeowner. We pride ourselves in delivering beautiful, quality homes for our buyers,” he says.
With years of experience, knowledge and resources, Elite is able to satisfy an array of demographics, including young professional, a growing family or an empty nester. Elite Home Builders LLC will remain an example of providing a quality product with superior customer service.
